YAKIMA, Wash. -- A special free event about autism will be held Tuesday at The Seasons, 101 N. Naches Ave.

Keri Bowers, mother of a child with autism, became an advocate after her son, Taylor, was born with developmental delays and was eventually diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.

Through public speaking, Bowers conducts workshops ranging from program development to social and life skills. Her son has made a film called "Normal People Scare Me," which has been featured on major television stations.

She will speak at 6 p.m. Her workbook will be available at the presentation.
