Armed robbery suspect moves to Ellensburg jail

ELLENSBURG -- The man accused of taking his 9-year-old daughter along while he robbed a Thorp convenience store at gunpoint is back in Kittitas County, officials confirmed Monday night.

Robert Daniel Webb, 42, of Everett, Wash., was at the county jail in Ellensburg, authorities said. He had been held at the Yakima County jail since Saturday, when he was arrested while visiting an acquaintance who tipped off the police.

Although his court schedule could not be confirmed Monday night, Kittitas County Prosecuting Attorney Greg Zempel said Webb would likely make his first court appearance today.

He is charged with first-degree robbery.

Webb was identified as the suspect in last week's widely publicized robbery after sheriff's investigators circulated security video from the AM/PM convenience store about five miles west of Ellensburg off Interstate 90.

Webb made a stop the next evening in Yakima, then drove with his daughter to California, authorities said. He dropped her off at a friend's house, then evaded police when they tried to stop his car, officials said.
