Accounting
LeMaster Daniels in Yakima has hired Daniel Soto as an accounting specialist in the tax department. Soto is earning his accounting degree from Heritage University and is expect to graduate in spring 2010.
It has also hired Kristin Mack as a staff accountant. Mack is a graduate of Central Washington University, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting. She formerly worked for Dietzen and Lakey in Yakima.
Finance
1031 Asset Exchange of Bend, Ore., has added Felip Holbrook as president and partner in a new branch office in Yakima. Holbrook, formerly of Summit 1031 Exchange, joins Sanna Phinney, owner and founding member of the firm.
Yakima Valley Credit Union recently selected new board and committee members. The board members are Dave Lynch, chairman; Jerry Kobes, vice chairman; Craig Baird, secretary; Tom Garrison, Michael Meyer, Vera Frank, Terry Morgan, Rick Ringer and Abel Castilleja. Steve Soelberg was selected as an associate member.
Members of the credit union's supervisory committee are Doug Partlow, chairman; Kenneth Flaks, vice chairman; Suzanne Mackey, secretary; Vickie Fitch and Joyce Segare.
Members of the credit committee are Oren Callihan, Dee Miller, Imelda Castillo, Richard Ensey and Linda O'Rourke.
Nominating committee members are Judie Sanderson and Kathy Franz.
Small business
West Side Merchants has elected Jack Cannon, owner of Designs LTD, as president for the 2009 year. Cannon has served on the organization's board for the past 10 years.
Other officers are Julie Schilling, Fosseen's Home & Hearth, vice president; and Lana Burwell, retired business owner, secretary/treasurer.
The organization also elected board members: Dave McCartney, retired; Donna Menard, Classic Events Catering; Tina Engelbretsen, Inland Lighting Center; Brad Christianson, Roy's Ace Hardware; and Schilling.
Doug Picatti of Picatti Bros. will chair the board and Yakima Mayor Dave Edler will serve as the City Council representative.
Organizations
Several members of the Junior League of Yakima have returned from leadership training in Albuquerque, N.M. Lori Aoki, Lacy Heinz, Bri Plath, Tressa Shockley and Joy Stenehjem attended the Organizational Development Institute. The event, which was hosted by the Association of Junior Leagues International, covered community impact, electing leaders, fund development and membership.
The Dispute Resolution Center of Yakima and Kittitas Counties has elected officers and new members to its board of directors for 2009.
Officers are Carolyn Thurston, Student Transitions and Academic Resources program at Central Washington University, president; Jolene Seda, Medical Associates of Yakima, secretary; Angie Girard, Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences, treasurer; and Bob Silligman, retired health care executive, at-large executive committee member.
New board members are Susan Erickson, Doug Lemon Rentals; William Miller, Computing Support Service, Central Washington University; Leslie Myrick, Community Health of Central Washington; and José Perez, Central Washington Comprehensive Mental Health.
