Estela Villegas

Estela Villegas, 69, of Yakima died Wednesday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Villegas was born in La Palmita, Jalisco, Mexico. She moved from Los Angeles to Yakima in 1985. She was a homemaker and an agricultural laborer.

Survivors include four sons, Mario Medina, Jose Medina and Elizondo Medina, all of Yakima, and Jorge Medina of Mexico; five daughters, Rosa Medina and Maria Medina of San Diego, Elionor Medina, Lilia Medina and Carmen Medina, all of Yakima; her mother, Urbana Gonzalez of Los Angeles; three sisters, Guadalupe Villegas of Portland, Ostolia Villegas of Los Angeles and Hermila Gonzalez of Wapato; three brothers, Primitivo Gonzalez of Yakima, Valdemar Villegas of Los Angeles and Julio Villegas of Mexico; 35 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Viewing is today from 2-5 p.m., Sunday from 1-5 p.m. and Monday from 1-5 p.m., with a vigil at 1 p.m. at Shaw and Sons Funeral Directors. Mass of Christian burial will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Parish, and burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

 

Charles Roscoe

Charles Roscoe, 87, of Chiloquin, Ore., died Tuesday.

Mr. Roscoe was born in Norfolk, Neb. He served in the Air Force as an airplane mechanic during World War II. He lived in Sunnyside and was a truck driver for Western Farmers Association for 38 years.

Survivors include five daughters, Patricia England of Lincoln City, Ore., Glenyce Hopper of Sunnyside, Bonita Mullin of Pryor, Okla., Marilyn Baldwin of Tonasket, Wash., and Karlyn Wessel of Chiloquin.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, with burial to follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens.

 

Leo K. Gasseling

Leo K. Gasseling, 86, of Wapato died Thursday at Cedar Hills Adult Care.

Mr. Gasseling was born in Wapato. He was a retired farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa; five sons, Ken, Don, Dave and Mike Gasseling, all of Wapato, and Tom Gasseling of Yakima; two daughters, Ann Niesz and Susan Gasseling, both of Wapato; a sister, Mary Lange of Wapato; 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday and 4-8 p.m. Monday with a vigil at 5:30 p.m. at Keith and Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel in Yakima. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in Wapato, with concluding services at Reservation Community Memorial Park.

 

Randy Eugene Dalton

Randy Eugene Dalton, 51, of Sunnyside died Thursday.

Mr. Dalton was born in Puyallup, Wash. He lived much of his life in Lakebay, Wash., and worked there as a logger. He lived with his family the past 17 years in Sunnyside, and worked as an agricultural laborer.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa Jane Dalton; two sons, Samuel Eugene Dalton and Daniel James Dalton, both of Sunnyside; a sister, Vicki Bruin of Sunnyside; two brothers, Ron Dalton of Lakebay and Rick Dalton of Grapeview, Wash.; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be at a later date.

Keith and Keith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.


Lela Belle Boucher

Lela Belle Boucher, 95, of Yakima died Friday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Boucher was a lifelong Yakima Valley resident, born in Grandview and raised in Wapato. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include three sons, Arthur Boucher, Michael Boucher and Robin Boucher, all of Yakima; three sisters, Edna Wardall of Tacoma, Betty Kechley of Seattle and Billie Lee; two brothers, Frazier Brown and Don Brown, both of Yakima; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

At her request, there will be no services.

Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

 

Charles LeRoy Richmond

Charles LeRoy Richmond, 62, of Union Gap died Thursday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Richmond was born in Livonia, Mo. He moved to the Yakima Valley as an infant. He served in the Army. He worked in the steam plant in Chehalis, Wash., before returning to Yakima, where he worked for many years at Yakima Waste Systems.

Survivors include his mother, Nellie Richmond of Union Gap; two sons, Charles Richmond and Greg Richmond, both of Union Gap; two sisters, Cheryl Womack of Chehalis and Sherri Richmond of Union Gap; and two brothers, Don Richmond of Ahtanum and Ken Richmond of Union Gap.

Services are pending.

Shaw and Sons Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.

 

Johnny Wayne Hoover

Johnny Wayne Hoover, 48, of Yakima died Dec. 28.

Mr. Hoover was born in San Antonio.

Survivors include eight siblings, Edna Hubbard, Helen Steele, Brenda Ebner, David Hoover and Franke Adkins, all of San Antonio, Donna Snider of Devine, Texas, and Jimmie Rosenbloom and Charlie Rosenbloom, both of Houston.

At his request, there will be no services.

Keith and Keith Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.

 

Jacqueline Jean Korsvik

Jacqueline Jean Korsvik, 80, of the Whitstran area died Thursday at Prosser Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Korsvik was born in Clayton County, Iowa. She moved with her family to Whitstran in 1943. She worked as a clerk at the Whitstran Store for many years. She and her husband owned and operated Taylor Auto Parts in Richland until retirement in 1988.

Survivors include her husband, Alton Korsvik; three sons, Ron Korsvik and Todd Korsvik, both of Prosser, and Terry Korsvik of Kennewick; a daughter, Karen Ingalsbe of Prosser; five sisters, Delores Buerger of Iowa, Devon Schab of Zillah, Betty Blaak and Wanda Thompson, both of Kennewick, and Judy Cummings of Arizona; a brother, Bob Kleinow of Oregon; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Sunday at Prosser Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church in Prosser with concluding services and burial to follow at Prosser Cemetery.

 

Maria de Jesus Dueñas Valadez de Muñiz

Maria de Jesus Dueñas Valadez de Muñiz, 77, of Yakima died Thursday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Dueñas Valadez de Muñiz was born in Ayo el Chico, Mexico. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Jose Muñiz of Yakima; a son, Alejandro Muñiz of Tijuana, Mexico; four daughters, Maria Silva and Bertha Silva, both of Yakima, and Maria Muñiz and Ofelia Muñiz, both of Tijuana; a sister, Trina Dueñas of Tijuana; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be Monday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 6 p.m., at Valley Hills Funeral Home, Yakima. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Moxee, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Yakima.
