Combining the pop hits of piano man Billy Joel and the dynamic choreography of Tony-winner/recent Kennedy Center honoree Twyla Tharp, the rock ballet/jukebox musical "Movin' Out" moves into the Capitol Theatre this weekend as part of the Best of Broadway series.

Conceived by Tharp, the show differs from a traditional musical in that the dancers don't sing. Instead, the music -- more than 20 Joel tunes -- is performed by a singer and band elevated above the stage while the dancers perform, without dialogue, the story of five high school friends coming of age in Vietnam War-era America. (Because of the interpretive nature of the show, it's a good idea to read a synopsis of the plot beforehand, which you can find at www.capitoltheatre.org.)

Performances are at 7:30 tonight and 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Capitol, 19 S. Third St.

Tickets cost $10 to $57.50 and are available through TicketsWest, 800-325-7328, or the Capitol Theatre box office, 853-2787.
