Isabel P. Garcia
Isabel P. Garcia, 82, of Sunnyside died Saturday in Yakima.
She was born in Brownville, Texas.
Survivors include three sisters, Guadalupe Gallegos of Phoenix and Refugia Noyola and Hortencia Guzman, both of Sunnyside; and one brother, Felipe Perales Jr.
Viewing and visitation is today from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 6 p.m., at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside, with burial to follow at the Sunnyside Cemetery.
Mildred Grogan
Mildred Grogan, 92, of Prosser died Saturday.
She was born in Dickinson, S.D. She was a school teacher. She lived in the Yakima Valley more than 50 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandy Goodboe of Grandview and Joy Mount of Prosser; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Grandview Nazarene Church.

Miguel Diaz
Miguel Diaz, 31, of Sunnyside died Dec. 30, 2008.
He was born in Colima, Mexico. Survivors include his parents, Francisco and Celia Diaz of Mabton of Sunnyside; his companion, Consuelo Figueroa of Sunnyside; one son, Frank Diaz of Sunnyside; one daughter, Katie Diaz of Sunnyside; and seven sisters, Brenda, Anna, Blanca, Myra, Mireya, Celia and Selena Diaz.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. today at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grandview. Burial will follow at the Mabton City Cemetery.
Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory, Sunnyside is in charge of the arrangements.
Antonia Amaro
Antonia Amaro, 61, of Prosser died Saturday in Seattle.
She was born in Toppenish. She worked at Grandview Middle School as a teacher's aide.
Survivors include 12 siblings, Frank Amaro Jr., Daniel Amaro and Cecille Amaro, all of Seattle, George Amaro of Oregon, Joe Amaro of Burlington, Wash., Fernando Amaro, Mary Fortier and Sally Chavez, all of Toppenish, David Amaro of Spokane, Lucy Mora of Zillah, Linda Amaro of Bellingham, Wash., and Vicky Amaro of Sunnyside.
Recitation of the rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Valley Hills Funeral Home, Zillah. Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Granger, with burial to follow at the Zillah Cemetery.
Ralph W. 'Buck' Hiner
Ralph W. "Buck" Hiner, 80, of Yakima died Friday at Ponderosa Retirement Center.
He was born outside of Newkirk, Okla. He worked in various warehouses throughout the Valley. He also worked for Comet Trailers in Selah for about 15 years and, most recently, he did television commercials for Ponderosa.
Survivors include two sisters, Charlotte Eaton of Enumclaw, Wash., and Betty Keys of Yakima; and one brother, Jim Hiner of Kennewick.
Celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Keith and Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. Interment will be with his parents at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Renton, Wash.
Russell D. Fulcher
Russell D. Fulcher, 81, of Yakima died Saturday at Chandler House in Yakima.
He was born, raised and educated in Genoa, Colo. He served in the Coast Guard and was a printer in the newspaper industry, working in various locations in Colorado, California and Washington.
Survivors include two sons, John Fulcher and Tom Fulcher; four daughters, Carol Hepburn of Shelton, Wash., Lynda Larsen of Ellensburg and Kathryn Blake and Donna Fulcher.
Family members plan a memorial ceremony at a later time with inurnment in the family plot in the Puget Sound area.

Charles Ervin Hixon
Charles Ervin Hixon, 75, of Yakima died Thursday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Bronson, Kan. He came to Washington state at the age of 14 and lived in Yakima for 60 years. He served in the Army. He worked for Boise Cascade for 31 years, retiring in 1995.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Hixon; two sons, Rick Messer and Blane Hixon; four daughters, Sherri Ingle, Retta Steier, Penny Beggs and Pam Way; two brothers, David Hixon and Robert Hixon; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Shaw and Sons Funeral Directors. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Shirley Hill
Shirley Hill of Yakima died Saturday at Emerald Care Center in Wapato.

Evalyn Rose Holmes
Evalyn Rose Holmes, 9, of Toppenish died Thursday at Toppenish Community Hospital.
She was born in Yakima and was a student at Kirkwood Elementary in Toppenish.
Survivors, all of Toppenish, include her parents, Halona Gibson and Jason Holmes; her stepfather, Fred Gibson Jr.; two brothers, Kyle Davis and James Gibson; one sister, Jasmine Gibson; and grandparents, Audrey Davis and Walter and Dori Holmes.
Visitation will be at 2 p.m. Thursday with recitation of the rosary at 6 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Toppenish with burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
Mayme Leola Poteet
Mayme Leola Poteet, 87, of Grandview died Saturday.
She was born in Stilwell, Okla. She moved with her husband and children to the Yakima Valley in 1957.
Survivors include five sons, Curtis, Darrell and Jerry Dale, all of Grandview, Charles James of Vancouver, Wash., and Carl of Kilaua, Hawaii; six daughters, Carol Smith of Ephrata, Wash., Velma Mears of Grandview, Tommie Herd of Westport, Wash., Ruby Williams of Yakima, and Juanita Hill and Rosalie Auffet, both of Stilwell; two stepdaughters, Joanne Willams and Bonnie Pipes, both of California; one sister, Lucille Baker of Stilwell; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Grandview Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at Valley Life Baptist Church, 609 Bonnieview Road in Grandview.
