The building that currently houses the local ABC affiliate is for sale.

The KAPP-TV property on 1610 S. 24th Ave. in Yakima was placed on the market at the end of November, said Anne Eichler of Almon Commercial, which listed the property.

The KAPP-TV staff is still in the building, but is looking to move to a smaller space, she said. The property, which has an asking price of $1,064,000, is about 2.59 acres and has 9,800 square feet of space.

The number of people working at KAPP has grown smaller in recent months.

KAPP-TV ended its
6 p.m. newscast last month and truncated an 11 p.m. newscast and laid off several workers. The layoffs included a reporting position and two editor/photographer positions

Several calls to KAPP executives were not returned this week.

Several potential buyers have looked at the property. One even made an offer, but that offer has not yet been accepted, Eichler said. She would not reveal the identities of any potential buyers.

"There are definitely some serious inquiries," she said.
