Lower Valley concert features piano-fiddle duo
SUNNYSIDE -- Pianafiddle, a piano and fiddle duo, will perform today in the next Lower Valley Community Concert.
The group begins its performance at 7:30 p.m. at the Sunnyside High School auditorium.
It will be the second of five shows for Lower Valley Community Concerts.
Season tickets are $50 for adults, $15 for students and $105 for a family of four. Single-performance admission is available at the door for $30.

'Tiny Tim's Christmas' takes stage at Princess Theatre
PROSSER -- The Valley Theater Company will stage four performances of "Tiny Tim's Christmas" starting this weekend.
Productions times are 7:30 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday, 7:30 p.m. Dec. 12 and 7:30 p.m. Dec. 13 at the Princess Theatre.
Tickets cost $10 for adults and $8 for kids. They are available in advance at the Sixth Street Gift and Art Gallery in Prosser, Safeway in Grandview, the Daily Sun News in Sunnyside or at the door.
Workshops on new computer software offered to growers
GRANDVIEW -- Washington State University will offer free computer workshops to teach growers how to use a new computer software program.
The software helps growers make long-range technology decisions involving rootstock, varieties, sprayers and others.
The workshop will be offered in a variety of locations but comes to the Yakima Valley on the following dates:
* Dec. 17, 3-5 p.m. at the Yakima Valley Community College Grandview campus.
* Dec. 18, 6-8 p.m. at the community college's Yakima campus.
Organizers ask for advance reser-vations.

Toppenish Safe Haven holding spaghetti feed
TOPPENISH — A spaghetti feed fund-raiser Friday at Toppenish Middle School aims to raise money for a parent-teacher organization and for Christmas gifts for a local youth center.
The event is being organized by the Toppenish Safe Haven, an after-school center that offers youth activities, tutoring and a computer lab.
A silent auction, a martial arts demonstration and music will also be part of the event.
The 5 p.m. dinner will be at the middle school at 104 Goldendale Ave. Tickets for the event cost $3.50 a person or $14 for a family.
Proceeds will go toward Christmas presents for Safe Haven kids and to the parent-teacher organization at Kirkwood Elementary School.
