GRANDVIEW -- A police pursuit in Grandview on Monday that at times reached nearly 100 mph ended in the arrest of an adult male and the recovery of several firearms, including a machine gun, from the suspect’s car.
Grandview police said they attempted to contact two males driving around in a Chevy Suburban following a report that they possessed guns illegally. The driver headed east out of the city limits into Benton County.
The driver eventually stopped near Evans Road and ran on foot into a vineyard. The passenger, a male juvenile, was taken into custody.
Police found the driver a mile away under a porch. He was arrested without incident.
Narcotics were also seized.
