Moxee trucker/singer-songwriter Toby Bradley has to be having a bit of déjà vu right about now.
He's once again in the final four of Country Music Television's "Music City Madness," a national online talent search now in its third cycle.
At exactly this time last year, Bradley's video for his touching song, "When You Come Home (Jessie's Song)," made it into the final four, but he was eliminated that week.
This time around, Bradley's competing with "Bill Mack Won't Play My Track," a toe-tapping ditty about the longtime country music DJ in Texas.
"It's a funny song," says the 37-year-old Bradley. "Bill Mack even got a kick out of it." (And according to Bradley, Mack has been playing the song on his syndicated show.)
The first round of this year's "Madness" began Oct. 21 with 64 acts. Through online voting, the aspiring country stars have been paired down week-by-week in the bracketed-style competition.
The voting for this round ends Monday. The two final singers will be announced Tuesday.
The "Music City Madness" winner receives an all-expenses-paid trip to CMT's Nashville studio to record an episode of "Unplugged at Studio 330" for www.cmt.com. He or she will also perform for A&R executives from Warner Bros. Records and sit down for a mentoring session with Randy Travis.
