State still has flu shots for kids and teens

Yakima Herald-Republic

The state still has lots of flu vaccine for kids and teens.

For help finding an immunization clinic in your area, call the Family Health Hotline at 1-800-322-2588.

Flu season unusually peaks between January and March, state health officials say, so it's not too late to get a shot.

Annual flu shots are recommended for all children between 6 months and 18 years. Last year, two children died from the flu in the state.

It's especially important for families with babies under 6 months to get vaccinated so they don't spread the flu to babies too young for the shot.

Clinics charge a nominal fee to administer the shot while the vaccine is free.
