YAKIMA -- Federal air-quality officials imposed a burn ban today on the Yakama reservation due to stagnant air, a similar move enforced by the local air agency that has jurisdiction off the reservation.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency ban applies to all outdoor and agriculture burning, including camping and recreational fires. Ceremonial and traditional fires are exempt from the ban.
The agency said the ban is likely to continue through Wednesday.
