Olmstead -- 70 years

Donald Sr. and Betty Olmstead of Grandview will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary Nov. 23 with an open house for friends and neighbors at 1 p.m. at the home of their son, Peter, 80 Mountainview Road in Grandview. The event will be hosted by their children.

Donald Olmstead and Betty Soot were married Nov. 23, 1938, at the Grandview home of the bride's parents. They have lived in Grandview 89 years.

Mr. Olmstead is a retired fruit farmer. Mrs. Olmstead is a retired secretary and bookkeeper.

The couple has three children, Peter Olmstead, Susan Beaver and Donald Olmstead Jr., all of Grandview. They also have seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

 

Harvey -- 60 Years

Dan and Mary Harvey of Yakima celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a midsummer family gathering in Kenmore, Wash., and a celebration Nov. 15 at A Touch of Europe. The events were hosted by their children.

Dan Harvey and Mary Hatch were married Nov. 18, 1948, at the First Church of the Nazarene in Yakima. They are lifelong area residents.

Mr. and Mrs. Harvey are retired.

The couple has two children, Meridan Pierce of Bothell, Wash., and Loren Harvey of Kenmore. They also have four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

 

McGuire -- 50 Years

Merlin and Florence McGuire of Yakima celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Nov. 15.

Merlin McGuire and Florence Garman were married Nov. 15, 1958, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. They have lived in the area 60 years.

Mr. McGuire retired as co-owner of McGuire Lumber and Rahier Trucking. Mrs. McGuire is a homemaker.

The couple has three children, Bruce M. McGuire, Brad McGuire and Brenda McGuire, all of Yakima. They also have six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

 

Price -- 50 Years

Robert and Patricia Price of Yakima celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Nov. 7 with a stay at the Run of the River Bed and Breakfast in Leavenworth, Wash.

Robert Price and Patricia Bebich were married Nov. 7, 1958, in San Pedro, Calif. They have lived in the area 10 years.

Mr. Price retired after 30 years as manager at AT&T. Mrs. Price is a retired receptionist.

The couple has two children, Robert E. Price Jr. of Tacoma and Diane Drinkwine of Spanaway, Wash. They also have two grandchildren.

 

Tetrick -- 50 Years

George D. Tetrick and Betty Weller Tetrick of Yakima will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary this spring with a cruise to Alaska, hosted by their family.

George Tetrick and Betty Ahlrich were married Oct. 26, 1958. They have lived in the area 17 years.

Mr. Tetrick retired as a Boeing tool engineer. Mrs. Tetrick retired as a dental nurse. They were also foster parents. She volunteers at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital's North Star Lodge Cancer Center.

The couple has two children, Paul Wayne Weller of Bakersfield, Calif., and Mark D. Tetrick of Seattle. They also have five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

 

Olmstead -- 50 Years

Burl and Darlene Olmstead of Yakima will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Nov. 23 with an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church. The event will be hosted by their children and grandchildren.

Burl Olmstead and Darlene Clark were married Nov. 23, 1958, at the Methodist Church in Fullerton, Calif. They have lived in the area 45 years.

Mr. Olmstead is a retired businessman. Mrs. Olmstead is a retired financial adviser.

The couple has two children, Eric Olmstead of Selah and Annette Plymale of Gig Harbor, Wash. They also have two grandchildren.

 

Schuler -- 45 Years

Jack and Karen Schuler of Yakima will celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary with a trip to Kauai, Hawaii.

Jack Schuler and Karen Schmitz were married Nov. 16, 1963, in Seattle. They have lived in the area 37 years.

Mr. Schuler is in management at Bob Hall's Honda GMC. Mrs. Schuler is a homemaker.

The couple has three children, Lisa Stone, Chris Schuler and Tara Tillett, all of Yakima. They also have seven grandchildren.

 

Ostrander -- 35 Years

Terry and Twyla Ostrander of Yakima celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary with a cruise to the Mexican Riviera. The trip was hosted by their children.

Terry Ostrander and Twyla Boast were married Sept. 15, 1973, in Grandview.

Mr. Ostrander is a manager with Fluor Hanford. Mrs. Ostrander is a school counselor at Eisenhower High School.

The couple has three children, Timothy Ostrander of Yakima, Thomas Ostrander of Puyallup, Wash., and Tiffany Ostrander of Pullman, Wash. They also have two grandchildren.

 

Burton -- 50 Years

James E. and Louise Burton of Yakima celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a party at Round Table Pizza in Yakima. The event was hosted by their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They plan a trip this spring.

James Burton and Louise Uerling were married Oct. 29, 1958, in Yakima. They are longtime area residents.

Mr. Burton retired from Rainier Plastic Co. Mrs. Burton recently retired as a medical assistant.

The couple has four children, Brenda Widmyer, Ronald Burton and Donald Burton, all of Yakima, and Jim Burton of Salem, Ore. They also have eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
