Three Mattawa residents were treated and released from a Richland hospital late Sunday night after their car was rear-ended by a vehicle that fled the scene, the Washington State Patrol said.

The patrol said the accident occurred shortly after 8 p.m. on  State Route 24, about 37 miles east of Yakima.

According to the patrol, Yanet Martinez Ocampo, 33, was driving east on State Route 24 when her 1991 Nissan Maxima was struck in the rear by the unidentified vehicle. The Ocampo vehicle ran off the road and rolled over.

Passengers in the car were identified as Mario Santana Briones, 31, and Jesus Ocampo, 10.

All three occupants were wearing seat belts.

They were transported to Kadlec Medical Center.
