Davis' Shawna Schooley and Emmanuel Contreras owned the day and Eisenhower's boys closed out their dominance of a season Thursday afternoon at Franklin Park.

Schooley and Contreras raced to victory and slashed big time off their career bests on the three-mile course while the Cadets had no trouble completing a 13-0 conference campaign as seven Columbia Basin Big Nine teams gathered in Yakima for the final round of dual meets.

Breaking away convincingly over the final half mile, Schooley proved last week's win at the Richland Invitational was no fluke, finishing with a time of 18 minutes, 29 seconds to best teammate Sandra Martinez by nine seconds.

That 1-2 finish, however, wasn't enough for the fifth-ranked Pirates to catch No. 4 Richland, which topped Davis 26-31 for the CBBN title. The Bombers claimed the next four places behind Schooley and Martinez to finish with a 13-0 record while Davis was second at 12-1.

Eisenhower's ninth-ranked boys easily dispatched their final three opponents -- Richland, Pasco and Moses Lake -- to earn the program's 13th league title in the last 14 years. Ike's 13-0 dual record was their third straight unbeaten season.

Contreras, who sat out the Sunfair Invitational two weeks ago with a sore Achilles tendon, was never pressed en route to a swift time of 15:38, which was 21 seconds ahead of runner-up Aaron Nelson of Walla Walla.

Bryan Simison, German Silva and Ryan Chapman claimed the next three spots for Ike, which had their entire scoring five in the top eight.

Davis' boys won two of their three matches, falling to Richland by one point, and finished 9-4.
