Girls night out in Prosser tonight

PROSSER — Prosser Memorial Hospital will hold a girls night out tonight to celebrate women’s health.

All women are invited to the Princess Theatre for speakers, snacks, shopping and a screening of “Royal Wedding,” starring Fred Astaire.

Hours are 6-9 p.m.

Pink ribbons will abound to honor women fighting breast cancer.

Cost is free, but donations toward women’s health programs will be accepted.

Luncheon/bazaar planned for Oct. 25

GRANDVIEW — The women of the Bethany Presbyterian Church will hold their annual bazaar and soup luncheon Oct. 25.

The luncheon will feature homemade soups and pies, homemade crafts and bags of pecans and almonds.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, corner of East Second Avenue and Birch Street.

Tickets are $6 for lunch, $3.50 for pie and coffee. Proceeds will go to programs of the Bethany Women’s Association.

The Wanderers to perform Tuesday

GOLDENDALE — The Wanderers, a folk band that covers songs from the 1930s through 1960s, will perform Tuesday at the Goldendale Community Library.

The free show begins at 7 p.m. The band features guitar, banjo and vocal harmonies.

Swing band to play in Prosser Oct. 23

PROSSER — Dutch Swing Fever, a big band jazz group from Holland and Germany, will perform Oct. 23 at the Princess Theatre.

The band will play covers of Glenn Miller and other swing tunes from the 1940s.

Local jazz students will perform as an opening act.

Show starts at 8 a.m.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for seniors and students. They are available in advance at Sixth Street Art Gallery in Prosser.
