ELLENSBURG -- Kaycie Hutchins nailed a penalty kick in the 52nd minute to give Central Washington a 2-1 victory over Montana State Billings in a women's college soccer match Saturday at the Central soccer complex.
With the victory, evened its GNAC record at 3-3 and moved to 6-4-2 overall.
Gwenna Carie scored late in the first half to give Central the lead, but Montana State Billings (2-4, 7-6) tied it two minutes into the second half.

SALEM, Ore. -- Molly Snell scored in the 89th minute to pull Yakima Valley Community College into a 2-2 tie with Chemeketa in a women's soccer match Saturday.
Hannah Shattuck also scored for the Yaks, who improved to 1-8-4.

Mullen 3rd in Western Invite
BELLINGHAM -- Marcie Mullen finished third in the women's race to lead Central Washington to a third-place team finish in the 35th Western Washington University Invitational cross country meet Saturday at Lake Padden Park.
Mullen, a senior from Sedro-Woolley High School, covered the 6-kilometer course in 22 minutes, 38 seconds, just 18 seconds behind runner-up Courtney Olsen of Western Washington. The Vikings' Sarah Porter was the winner in a time of 21:24.
Central's men were fourth, with Wes Hargrove's 29th place the top finish by a Wildcat. John Riak of Saint Martin's was the men's winner, covering the 10-kilometer course in 31:44. Western Washington won the team title.

Anchorage tops Central
ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Kady Try had 19 kills, but Central Washington's rally fell short in a five-set loss to Alaska Anchorage in a GNAC volleyball match Saturday night.
Anchorage (4-4, 12-9) won 25-17, 25-18, 25-27, 15-25, 15-11.
In addition to Try, Rachael Schurman and Erin Norris added 11 kills each, with Schurman also collecting 11 blocks for the Wildcats (4-3, 12-7).
Rhea Cardwell led Anchorage with 23 kills. Cortney Lundberg added 15 kills and eight blocks, and Rachel Kidwell had 13 kills.
