Fresh Hop Ale Festival winners announced
The judges for last Saturday's Fresh Hop Ale Festival certainly had the tough -- but also tasty -- job of selecting the best brews made with "wet," unprocessed hops.
Here are this year's winners:
Commercial breweries
First place -- Laughing Dog Brewery's Hop Dog. (Ponderay, Idaho)
Second place -- Snipes Mountain Brewing Co.'s Harvest Ale. (Sunnyside)
Third place -- Deschutes Brewery's Hop Trip. (Bend, Ore.).
Home brewers
First place -- Derry Jefferis, Yakima.
Second place -- Karl Vanevenhoven, Yakima.
Third place -- Mike Clancy, Kennewick.
