ZILLAH — Three horses standing on Interstate 82, east of Zillah, were killed early Wednesday when a semi-tractor and trailer struck the animals, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Troopers said Dennis Smith, 42, of Nibley, Utah, was westbound on the freeway shortly after midnight when he struck the horses.
Smith, operating a 2007 Kenworth tractor and trailer, was not injured in the 12:10 a.m. accident.
