Klickitat County sheriff’s deputies said Friday they led a two-day drug bust earlier in the week that ended in the eradication of 20,000 marijuana plants and the arrest of four suspects.
On Thursday, police showed up on public lands about 8 miles north of White Salmon, where they eliminated 15,000 mature plants and arrested two armed suspects. The day before, they caught two armed suspects and pulled about 5,000 mature plants on range land about 10 miles east of Goldendale.
All four were initially held in the county jail but two have been transferred into federal custody. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Washington State Patrol assisted in the operation.
