YAKIMA -- Sunnyside's Danny Plesha beat Yakima's Abe Chang for the men's open singles title at the Yakima City Tournament on Sunday at the Yakima Tennis Club.
Selah's Kevin Bertelsen beat Yakima's Aaron McCausland for the men's 3.5 singles championship.
Bob Cox and Don Judy won the men's 3.5 doubles title.
On the women's side, Corinne Choy of Zillah and Justine Hayes of Yakima won round-robin matches in the open singles classification.

Jason Jefferson earns first win
EAST WENATCHEE -- Jason Jefferson won the WVSO Invitational 125 after starting fourth to secure his first victory this season in the ARCA West Late Model Challenge Series on Saturday night at the Wenatchee Valley Super Oval.
Jefferson, from Naches, held off Wes Rhodes, Jared Vorse and Yakima's Erick Hargraves for the final
100 laps.
The series' next event is scheduled for Aug. 31 at
Yakima Speedway.

Jeff Jefferson 16th in California
IRWINDALE, Calif -- Naches' Jeff Jefferson finished 16th in the NASCAR Camping World Series West event at Toyota Speedway on Saturday night.
Jefferson started the race in 15th position.
Jason Bowles of Ontario, Calif., won the race from the pole.
The next event in the series is set for Sept. 12
at Altamont Raceway near Tracy, Calif.
