Catherine M. Kennedy
Catherine M. Kennedy, 95, of Ellensburg died Saturday at Royal Vista Care Center.
Mrs. Kennedy was born and raised in Duluth, Minn. She and her husband moved to Renton, Wash., in the late 1940s and later made their home in Tonasket, Wash. She moved to Ellensburg three years ago. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen Varichak of Kittitas and Ramona Hess of Graham, Wash.; seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Memorial observation will be private.

Robert Stickley
Robert Stickley, 70, of Prosser died Saturday at his home.
Mr. Stickley was born in Gary, Colo. He was educated in Sunnyside. He worked as a cement mason and operated his own business. He was also a carpenter, farmer and orchardist and served in the Navy.
Survivors include his mother, Lois M. Stickley; a son, Dennis B. Stickley, both of Prosser; two daughters, Sherry Kennedy of Oregon and Robbie Wilson Stickley of Idaho; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Augustina 'Tina' Varela
Augustina "Tina" Varela, 77, of Grandview died Saturday.
Mrs. Varela was born in Brownsville, Texas. She worked for decades at Western Union and at Al's Shoe Repair in Grandview.
Survivors include her husband, Albert Varela of Grandview; four children, Faustino Varela of Yakima, Arturo Varela of Mabton, Dolores Varela of Yakima and Cynthia Varela Terry of Mill Creek, Wash.; two brothers, Louie Morales of Wapato and Amador Morales of Yakima; a sister, Helen Acosta of Cerritos, Calif.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Smith Funeral with a recitation of the rosary at 6 p.m. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Church in Grandview. Burial will be at the Grandview Cemetery.

Victor H. Lyon
Victor H. Lyon, 86, of Yakima died Friday.
Mr. Lyon was born in Prosser. He served in the Navy during World War II. He began a 40-year trucking career by working with his father, then owned his truck and drove petroleum tankers for Herrett Trucking, General Transport and Mobil Oil Corp.
Survivors include four children, Dick Lyon of Yakima, Preston Lyon of Renton, Wash., Connie Davis of Sunnyside and Ed Lyon of Kennewick; two stepchildren, Bob Brown of Yakima and Judy Sears of South Bend, Wash.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Burial will follow at Outlook Cemetery. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the West Side Baptist Church in Yakima.

George R. Hall
George R. Hall, 87, of Yakima died Saturday at Summitview Healthcare Center.
Mr. Hall was born in Spokane. He was an insurance agent in the Seattle area for many years.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Ovall of Yakima; a son, Richard Hall of Bellevue, Wash.; three grandsons and two great-granddaughters.

Juana D. Garcia
Juana D. Garcia, 95, of Outlook died Monday.
Mrs. Garcia was born in Mexico. She made her home in Mexico before moving to the Valley in 1995.
Survivors include six children, Epifania Salcedo, Pedro Garcia, Jesusa Garcia, Juana Garcia, Pilar Garcia and Genovia Garcia; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens.

The Rev. Maynard Grey Tucker
The Rev. Maynard Grey Tucker, 74, of Yakima died Monday.
The Rev. Tucker was born in Pilot Mountain, N.C. He served in the Navy for four years. He was a recruiter for the Washington National Guard in Yakima before working with the Army Reserve at the Firing Center. He retired as master sergeant. He also served as a Southern Baptist pastor for 25 years in Naches and Tieton.
Survivors include his wife, Naomi Tucker of Moxee; a daughter, Elizabeth Marko of Tieton; three sons, William Tucker of Woodinville, Wash., Archi Tucker of Cowiche and Barry Tucker of Ellensburg; and 10 grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Keith and Keith Terrace Heights Chapel. Graveside service will follow at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.

Jack Junior Schaneman
Jack Junior Schaneman, 65, of Sunnyside died Monday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Schaneman was born in Hardin, Mont. He worked as a heavy equipment operator at Sunnyside Valley Irrigation District. He lived in Sunnyside for 50 years.
Survivors include a son, Rod Schaneman of Tri-Cities; a daughter, Lisa Dixon-Floyd of Yakima; two brothers, Don Schaneman and Frank Schaneman, both of Sunnyside; and three grandchildren.
Graveside memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.

Gustavo Vargas-Ramirez
Gustavo Vargas-Ramirez, 26, of Yakima died Saturday at Kadlec Medical Center in Richland from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident.
Mr. Vargas-Ramirez was born in Guerrero, Mexico. He was a landscaper and worked for Wild Lands Inc. for seven years.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Contreras; a son, Huri Gustavo Vargas-Contreras, both of Yakima; his father, J. Ascension Vargas of Alaska; his mother, Maria Ramirez of Guerrero, Mexico; four sisters, Margarita Vargas of Benton City, Leticia Vargas, Anna Maria Vargas and Karina Vargas, all of Guerrero; and a brother, Fredy Vargas of Prosser.
Visitation and viewing will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Keith and Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel with a brief service at 6 p.m. Thursday. The main service will be 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Cerro Verde, Guerrero, Mexico.

Isabell Loran Decker
Isabell Loran Decker, 94, of Wapato died Tuesday at Emerald Care.
Mrs. Decker was born and raised in Mott, N.D. She moved to Washington in 1938, first to Wenatchee and shortly afterward moved to Yakima. She worked at Libby's Cannery.
Survivors include three children, Sylvia Lenseigne-VanCleave and Edgar Decker, both of Wapato, and Dale Decker of Cle Elum; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Viewing is today from 2-5 p.m., and Thursday from noon until the time of the vigil service at 6 p.m. at Merritt Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Reservation Community Memorial Park.
