ELLENSBURG -- A 29-year-old Portland man found dead at a camp site south of Cle Elum apparently overdosed on drugs and alcohol, Kittitas County sheriff's deputies said.
The body of Shaun Krebeck was discovered by a friend early Sunday morning in his tent at a camp site off of Osborn Point, about six miles southeast of Cle Elum, according to a news release.
A witness told sheriff's deputies that Krebeck had taken a "cocaine cocktail" and also allegedly had been drinking absinthe, a high-alcohol liquor.
According to sheriff's deputies, the witness said Krebeck went to his tent with help at about 2 a.m. Sunday and was found unresponsive and not breathing about four and a half hours later.
Deputies said CPR was performed but Krebeck could not be revived. The case has been assigned to the sheriff's Major Crimes Unit for further investigation.
