Art students who live within 20 miles of Grandview might be eligible for the Harry Christian Cook and Blanche McKane Cook Art Scholarship.

To apply, students must be under the age of 25, live within 20 miles of Grandview, and be applying to, or have been accepted by, an approved art program.

If selected, the scholarship, worth at least $1,500, will go directly to the college or university of the recipient.

The judges -- faculty members of Central Washington University's art department -- will be looking for an applicant to "exhibit substantial accomplishment in the fields of painting, drawing or other craft, and show substantial promise."

The judges are qualified to critique both two- and three-dimensional projects.

If interested, a portfolio of 10 to 20 original pieces should be submitted to the Bleyhl Community Library at 311 Division St. in Grandview before April 15.

For more information, call Linda Dunham or Ruth Dirk at 882-9217.
