Carla Marie (Gendron) Wood

BOISE, ID - Carla Marie (Gendron) Wood, 69 of Boise, ID passed away Sunday evening January 29, 2012 after a valiant fight with cancer. She was at home, surrounded by her family. Mom was born August 8, 1942 in Tonasket, WA to Armand (Bud) and Valeria (Larry) Gendron. Mom had a great love of the outdoors. She grew up in the Pacific Northwest where she was one with nature. One of her greatest memories was the fawn she raised and released back to the wild. In her prime Mom could be seen hiking, fishing, bowling, pitching baseball, shooting pool, and dancing. Mom had an outgoing personality and touched the hearts of all who had the opportunity to get to know her. Some of her favorite hobbies were reading mystery novels, and creating decorative cakes. She never missed an opportunity to plan a party or get together with friends. She was known as Grandma to 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She is also survived in death by her sister, Laverda Black (Anacortes, WA); brother, Armand (Whitey) Gendron Jr (Everett, WA); her children, Jim Griffin (Dayton, OH), Judy Purchase (Boise, ID), and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Leo Wood, and son William. Mom you will be forever loved and missed by us all!
