3/31/21 - 4/5/10

Four days after her 89th birthday, Alta Vredenburgh Pruitt Fuller passed away April 5, 2010. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Joseph Harley Pruitt and Joseph Charles Fuller. She lived a rich and adventuresome life and raised 3 children. Glea Livingston, Lynnette Walker, and Dean Pruitt. Alta was one of the women at Boeing in Washington State, who helped build planes during the war. From her work there, she was able to help support her two sisters through nursing school. For much of her work life, she was a school bus driver and was the first woman driver in the Vancouver school district. Alta enjoyed contributing to her community through active involvement with the Adventist Church and its charities. She loved to travel and had wonderful memories of hitchhiking across the country from Washington State to Key West Florida when she was 19. In her retirement years, she was a snowbird, going south each winter to Tecopa Hot Springs. For several years in Woodburn OR, she lived in an RV, saying she felt more comfortable with wheels under her.

Besides her children, she leaves behind two sisters and a brother. Viola and her husband Marion Guttenfelder, Ruth and her husband Robert Jones, and Amos and his wife Marge Vredenburgh. She also has two dearly loved grandchildren studying at university Aaron and Victoria Walker. Alta, her ready smile and sense of adventure will be very missed.
