TOPPENISH - Larry E. Barbee (75) of Toppenish died on Thursday January 28, 2010 in Toppenish. Larry was born in Yakima on April 26, 1934 to Raymond and Sophie (McLavey) Barbee. He graduated from Granger High School and joined the U.S. Marine Corps where he retired after 25 years as a Sergeant Major in 1978. He worked for Radar Electric in Seattle until retiring in the late 1990's. He was a member of the Mt. Adams Country Club, American Legion and attended the Zillah 7th Day Adventist Church. Larry enjoyed bowling, race cars, horse racing, and golfing. He is survived by is wife, Helen Schademan-Barbee of Toppenish; six children, Larry R. Barbee of Long Beach, WA, Laura (Bill) Byrne of Warrington, OR, Linda Argent of California, Don (Sandy) Schademan of Toppenish, Weldon (Karen) Schademan of Zillah and Verena (Larry) Myers of Toppenish; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant brother. Visitation will be on Sunday January 31, 2010 from 2-7 PM at Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Monday February 1, 2010 at 11 AM at Colonial Funeral Home with interment and military honors conducted at Tahoma Cemetery in Yakima.
