YAKIMA - Paul Dean Goodwin, 74, of Goldendale, passed away Friday, June 26, 2009 at Highgate House. Dean was a retired telephone wire installation technician for Western Electric for thirty-seven years. Dean was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting, playing softball and especially baseball. He loved his family and friends and spending time with them playing cribbage and pinochle. He enjoyed wintering in Mesa along side his companion Joy.

He is lovingly survived by his children: Vicki (Frank) Chrisman and Karen (Pat) Peterson all of Yakima and Derek Goodwin of Husum, WA. His life partner Joy Dupue of Goldendale and her daughter Bobbi McCord and husband Bert of Canby, Oregon. Sisters: Lila Walling of Murray, Idaho and Beverly (John) Yaryan of Mead, WA. Six grandchildren: Layci (Nick) Nelson, Heather (Kirk) Gulian, Chad (Stephanie) Peterson, Dustin (Heather) Goodwin, Clint Goodwin, Drew Chrisman. Two great grandchildren: Ty Goodwin, Jordyn Luther. Several cousins including Dorothy and husband Vern Maw. He is also survived by the mother of his children: Joan Goodwin. He was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters: Ada Kelly, Albert Goodwin, Elmer Goodwin, Nila Goodwin, Clyde Goodwin, and Elsie Fowler and a son-in-law, Rod Chronister.

A Celebration of his life will be held Thursday, July 2, 2009 2:00 p.m. at Langevin Mussetter Funeral Home. Memorials may be be made Highgate House Alzheimer's Fund c/o Langevin Mussetter Funeral Home.
