Leola J. Merillat, age 78 years, of Archbold, Ohio passed away Thursday morning, June 25, 2009 in Wauseon, Ohio. She was born August 16, 1930, near Alvordton, Ohio the daughter of Estel and Lura (Borton) Wyrick, and married Charles "Bud" Merillat on November 5, 1949. She managed the Lauber General Store at Sauder Village in Archbold for many years, and was a member of the Archbold United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband Charles "Bud"; four children, Sam (Nancy) Merillat of Archbold, Janet Merillat of Angola, IN, Sue Kruse of Wooster, OH and Rev. James (Pamela) Merillat of Yakima, WA; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Gerald (Patsy) Wyrick, Edwin (Harriet) Wyrick, Estel (Mary Ellen) Wyrick, and Duane (Phyllis) Wyrick. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson; a great-grandson; one brother, Robert Wyrick, and one sister Beatrice Wyrick. Memorial services will be held on Monday at 11 AM at Archbold United Methodist Church with Rev. James J. Merillat officiating. The family suggests that memorials be given to Archbold United Methodist Church or Sauder Village.
