William J. Park
William John Park, 100, of Yakima died Friday at Crescent Convalescent Center.
He was born in Ashcreek, S.D., and worked in maintenance for the Bon Marche department store and National Bank of Commerce. He served in the Army during World War II.
Survivors include two nephews, James and Glen, and a niece, Patricia.
Burial will be at Terrace Heights Memorial Park, with the time and date pending.
Arrangements are by Keith and Keith Funeral Home.
Cecilia Quezada
Cecilia Quezada, 50, of Sunnyside died Sunday in Richland.
She was born in Texas and formerly lived in Wapato and Yakima.
Survivors include her father, Roman Mirelez of Yakima; her mother, Rosa Mirelez of Sunnyside; four sons, Manuel Stevens and Juan Stevens, both of Yakima, Dario Carreno of Wapato and Ricardo Stevens of Grandview; four brothers, Joe Villanueva of Prosser, Jesse Mirelez and Daniel Mirelez of Yakima and Ray Mirelez of Sunnyside; two sisters, Zenaida Johnson of Kelso, Wash., and Melissa Mirelez of Yakima, and 17 grandchildren.
Private family services will be held. Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside is in charge of arrangements.
Elsie Pike
Elsie Pike, 92, of Selah died Saturday at Selah Convalescent.
She was born in the family home in Waubay, S.D., and later moved to Spokane. During World War II, she worked as a riveter helping build ships in Vancouver, Wash., and was a homemaker after moving to Yakima.
Survivors include three nieces, Verna Jump of Naches, Claudett West of Missouri and Dorothy Maloney of Tacoma, and two nephews, Robert Peer of Tacoma and George Peterson. At her request, there will be no service. Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Oscar Garcia
Oscar Garcia of Prosser died Friday. He was 59.
He was born in Adrian, Mich., and moved to Grandview as a boy. He worked as manager of Hop Union in Mabton and then for the Prosser Research Center.
He is survived by his wife, Yolanda Garcia of Prosser; three children, Melissa Morasch of Richland, Maurisio Garcia of Grandview and Oscar Garcia Jr. of Forrest City, Ark.; his mother, Josephina Segovia of Grandview; eight sisters, Yolanda Garcia of Prosser, Alice Garcia of Grandview, Dahlia Segovia of Yakima, Olga Segovia of Seattle, Elma Segovia and Lydia Caballero, both of San Antonio, Texas, Elida Valenzuela of Florida and Carolina Ybarra of Texas; two brothers, Ricardo Segovia and Ramiro Segovia, both of Grandview; and seven grandchildren.
Viewing and visitation will be at 4-8 p.m. today, with a rosary at 6 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Grandview. Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grandview. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
