YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital has partnered with TherapEase Cuisine, Inc., an online meal-planning service, to offer the program to cancer patients at North Star Lodge.

Founded by cancer survivors, TherapEase Cuisine is based on accepted oncology-dietetic practice to help patients meet their nutritional needs during treatment. The service costs is $9.95 a day.

“This innovative system will provide our patients with the tools they need to stay healthy and suffer fewer side effects from their treatment,” said Mary Marsh, director of North Star Lodge.

Participants receive individualized and detailed food recommendations as well as direct support via e-mail from staff dietitians. The program features expert advice customized to each patient’s diagnosis and treatment as well as regular re-assessment and modifications based on symptoms and side effects.
