I think Kristie Burrill is Yakima’s version of Where’s Waldo.

I tracked Burrill, a clothing designer and Yakima native, to Coralie’s, a long-time alteration business at Track 29, 1 W. Yakima Ave. Burrill has agreed to help owner Coralie Greenhow do alterations to gain space for her clothing, jewelry and vintage button collection.

Burrill spent a few months at P. Kabu, a clothing boutique located at the Chalet Place on 56th and Summitview avenues, but decided to move elsewhere when the shop decided to move toward becoming a designer consignment shop.

I also found Stephanie Tudor, who is currently the manager of P. Kabu. But she will become a co-owner of the newest incarnation of the shop, which will be called P. Kabu Designer Consignment Woman and Children.

The shop is now accepting items to be sold for consignment. The shop is looking for high-end clothes, shoes and purses from brands such as Seven for All Mankind, Citizens of Humanity and Betsey Johnson. It will also accept vintage jewelry and clothes if they are in good condition, Tudor said.

The move toward consignment was necessary with the downturn in the economy, Tudor said.

“We want to have something that is a bit adaptive and a little more accessible,” she said.

Meanwhile, the shop is selling its new inventory a reduced prices.
