You could be eligible for free tutoring

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Students who need extra help in math and reading might be able to receive free tutoring through Advantage Point Learning.

The company offers free tutoring to children in elementary, middle and high school in reading or math. Costs are covered through the federal funds. Sessions are offered for about an hour afterschool at school two days a week.

Children who attend the following schools and receive free or reduced lunch automatically qualify:
• In Grandview — McClure, Smith and Thompson elementary schools.
• In Granger — Roosevelt Elementary, Granger Middle and Granger High schools.
• In Highland — Tieton Intermediate School.
• In Mabton — Artz Fox Elementary School.
• In Selah — John Campbell and Robert S. Lince elementary schools.
• In Sunnyside — Chief Kamiakin, Outlook, Pioneer and Washington elementary schools;  Harrison and Sierra Vista middle schools; and Sunnyside High School.
• In Toppenish — Garfield, Kirkwood, Lincoln, and Valley View elementary schools; Toppenish Middle School, and Eagle and Toppenish high schools.
• In Wapato — Adams, Camas and Satus elementary schools; and Wapato Middle School.
• In Yakima — Adams, Barge Lincoln, Garfield, Gilbert, Hoover, Martin Luther King Jr., McClure, McKinley and Robertson elementary schools; Franklin, Lewis & Clark, Wilson and Washington middle schools; Davis and Eisenhower high schools; and Stanton Academy.
