SELAH, Wash. -- There’s no trick-or-treating here.
It’s “Read-and-Treat” tonight at John Campbell Elementary School in Selah.
The Halloween-themed literacy event takes place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. And more than 600 students and community members — most of whom come in costume — are expected to attend.
Little ghouls and boys will be treated to story time at the event. They’ll be read to by teachers, principals, high school students and other volunteers for 12 minutes, then rotate to another classroom. They’ll also receive a treat and a reading strategy or tip.
The school is located at 408 N. First St. in Selah. For more information, call the school at 509-697-0725.
