ELLENSBURG, Wash. -- Gov. Chris Gregoire has appointed two new members to serve on Central Washington University’s Board of Trustees and has reappointed current board chairman, Sid Morrison, for another six-year term.

As of this month, Moses Squeochs and Dan Dixon are the board’s newest trustees.

Squeochs’ term will end in 2015 and Dixon’s will end in 2012. Dixon is filling the unexpired term of David Valdez, who served from 2006 through May 2009.

Squeochs of Toppenish is replacing Leslie Jones, who served on the board for 12 years. He also serves as chairman for the Yakama Nation General Council and has received an honorary master of natural sciences degree from Central earlier this year.

Dixon of Seattle is vice president of external affairs for Swedish Medical Center. He previously worked as Alaska’s first director of international trade and investment, an attorney and the director of an investment bank.

The board, which also includes Patricia Notter, Kate Reardon, Annette Sandberg, Keith Thompson and Central student trustee Brent Weisel, has legal power and responsibility for the university’s operations.
