Career fair Monday in Toppenish

TOPPPENISH, Wash. -- There’s a career fair Monday at the Yakama Nation Cultural Center in Toppenish.

High school students, parents and counselors are invited to the event, dubbed “Native Networking for our Community, Preparing for the Future.”

According to organizers, the aim of the free fair is to inform students and other participants about networking opportunities for jobs and training on or near the Yakama Reservation.

Attendees will be able to take workshops on filling out job applications and writing résumés for tribal and governmental jobs, customer service etiquette and job readiness, among other topics.

There will be drawings for door prizes and speakers from Heritage University and the Yakama Nation, among other groups and organizations.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. A job interview skit takes place at 1 p.m.
