You don’t have to be a Davis High School student to use the Davis High School library.

The school library is open to all students and community members in the Yakima Valley.

At 3 p.m., “We become a public library. We’re open to the public,” says Lynne Greene, the director of the Davis High School library and media center.

There’s free tutoring available for young people and adults alike. There are also more than 100 computers to use. And anyone can check out books.

The computers feature filtered and supervised Internet access. And Davis High School teachers are on hand from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday for free tutoring.

Students in the Davis International Baccalaureate program also available for free tutoring.

“We’ve had kids from White Swan and Selah, from East Valley and West Valley, Sunnyside, Toppenish, Wapato — all over,” Greene says.

The library opens at 7 a.m. Monday through Friday. It’s open to the public after school from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Friday, the library closes at 3 p.m.
