YAKIMA, Wash. -- John Tesh, the former "Entertainment Tonight" host whose mellow brand of new-age music has thrilled literally hundreds of fans, has canceled his Aug. 21 Yakima concert.
The concert, set for the Capitol Theatre, fell victim to a scheduling conflict, according to theater General Manager Gay Parker.
Tesh’s Web site now says he will play Portland, Ore., that night. The theater will try to reschedule a Yakima date, Parker said.
Those who purchased tickets can get their money back at the Capitol Theatre box office. But, in the wake of this cancelation, it’s unclear who will ever give them back their hopeful innocence.
Tesh’s new-age contemporary Yanni was unavailable for comment … because we never tried to reach him. He’s probably at the Acropolis.

Pat - thanks again for another morning chuckle -"...hundreds of fans". Are you enjoying sjuan's fixation with you as much as I am - thanks for taking some of the pressure off. Wasn't there a song that Tesh did that went something like ".... love is in the air - dum, dum, dum - dum, dum, dum - love is in the air". Try to get that tune out of your head today. Cheers.
Report ViolationYakRob,
I never would have guessed that you're a Tesh fan :)
sjuan - that's what you're all about afterall - guesses. :) Take heart though, you are not alone. To quote a musician as diametrically opposed to Mr. Tesh as one could be: "....guesses based on what each set of time and change is touching". Can anyone name the tune? I bet Pat's partner/girlfriend can.
Report ViolationTesh cancels Yakima show; fans presumably outraged....
Outraged??? Why? The fans can get their money back and Tesh will probably re-schedule to appear in Yakima. Again...Outraged??? Geesh! Get a life!
overfifty - it's just a "guess", but I'm thinking that this entire piece is somewhat tongue in cheek. The clue for me was the first paragraph in which Chris refers to "literally hundreds of fans". I would think most "big name" acts would have thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of fans. But, who knows, maybe those hundreds of fans are upset about the cancellation - and I would then have to agree with your question - why?
Report Violationuh... I mean Pat, not Chris (not sure where that came from). Sorry Pat.
